SPORTSMEN AGAINST HUNGER 2010
From Left to Right - Jim Freeman (donor), John Crane (processor) and Tyler Driver (The Extension) |
Thanks to caring Sportsmen, Processors and Charities nearly 250 million meals are served annually via the Sportsmen Against Hunger (SAH) program, which helps share nature's bounty with the hungry. This program is active in all 50 states of the U.S., in Canada and in several other countries around the world. Our Georgia Chapter of Safari Club International (GASCI) has made several improvements to the program this year. We raised funds though our banquets to fund the processing of meat. Then, John Crane (of Crane’s Taxidermy & Processing) generously offered to help us as a donation site and processor throughout the season.
This first local SAH delivery of the season was from two deer donated by Jim Freeman, processed by John Crane and received by Tyler Driver, the executive director of The Extension. The Extension is a non-profit organization committed to transforming dependent people into accountable members of society. Fresh free organic meat is available to non-profit organizations to feed the hungry on a first-come basis. Please call John Crane at 770-974-4659 to donate your meat or funds. All request for the pick-up of meat can be made to any GASCI board member found at our website www.gasci.org , by email to info@gasci.org or by calling 404-428-6541. We look forward to helping feed the hungry! |
